“LeBrenedict Arnold”: FatHead King James Sale
Everyone has dealt with LeBron James leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat in their own way. Millions have ranted, many of cried, and few have even set his precious number 23 jersey up in flames. However, Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has taken a special approach to expressing how he truly feels about King James.
We all heard Dan Gilbert’s public remarks stating James’ decision to be “an act of cowardly betrayal.” He was even fined $100,000 by NBA Commissioner David Stern for his comments. Well this didn’t stop Gilbert from taking his resentment of LeBron to the business table.
Along with being the owner of the Cavaliers, Dan Gilbert also owns FatHead LLC, a sports memorabilia company which sells life-size wall stickers of professional athletes. While these wall stickers usually run around the hefty price of $99.99, there has been a major price cut on the one and only King James memorabilia. Every LeBron James wall sticker on the website has been labeled as CLEARANCE and repriced to $17.41, coincidentally the birth year of Benedict Arnold. For those of you who slept through history class, Benedict Arnold was a colonial army officer who offered to surrender West Point to the British for money during the Revolutionary War. While “LeBrenedict’s” act wasn’t for money, Gilbert still believes it was “narcissistic” and “cowardly.”
Touché Dan Gilbert…clever way of expressing your emotions. But after this, your whining needs to stop. LeBron made his decision to leave and it’s just something you and the rest of us are going to have to deal with. Yes, we all know Cleveland as a team and a city is outright screwed, but it’s time for you to go figure out how you’re going to “personally guarantee that the Cleveland Cavaliers will win an NBA championship before the self-title former ‘King’ wins one.” (Yes he actually stated this)
For those of you who don’t really give a shit about this NBA drama anymore (or still secretly love LeBron), you might want to take advantage of this great deal on FatHead. I personally think these wall stickers look pretty damn cool and to get one for under $20 bucks is a steal.
Long live the King.
