Death of the Superstars

Jennifer Lopez just lost her only chance to become relevant again in pop culture: she was dropped from judging American Idol because she had too many demands.

We already entered an era where media conglomerates had to adjust their products to the changing technology.  Now we’ve entered the same era with superstars.

Tom Cruise went all in on his latest movie “Knight and Day,” and came out battered on the other side.  His next movie, “Mission: Impossible 4,” reconsidered his role, and decided it better to pay hRim after the movie was released.  They are also bringing in a young actor to give him the Indiana Jones 4 treatment.

Other stars like J-Lo who can’t cope with the times: Russell Crowe in Robin Hood, John Travolta in From Paris with Love, Nic Cage in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Brendan Fraser in Extraordinary Measures and Furry Vengeance, and Jennifer Aniston in everything.

Let’s hope that this indicates audiences cannot be sold on just a face anymore, and movies are made with story in mind.
